Your Life Path number comes from your full birth date. It's the most widely used number in numerology, and it's simple enough to work out on paper. The method matters, though, because two calculators can give you different answers from the same date.
The method Soul Confluence uses
Reduce the month, the day and the year separately. Then add those three results and reduce again.
Take May 24, 1989. The month is 5. The day is 24, and 2 plus 4 is 6. The year is 1989, and 1 plus 9 plus 8 plus 9 is 27, then 2 plus 7 is 9. Now add 5, 6 and 9 to get 20. Then 2 plus 0 is 2. Life Path 2.
Master Numbers
If a total lands on 11, 22 or 33, it isn't reduced further. Those are called Master Numbers. Someone whose final total comes to 11 is a Life Path 11, not a 2.
This is where calculators disagree. Some add every digit in one long string. Some reduce too early and lose the 11. If one site says 2 and another says 11, check which method each used. Our free Life Current numerology tool keeps Master Numbers.
Karmic Debt numbers
Some numerologists also watch for 13, 14, 16 and 19 appearing along the way. These are called Karmic Debt numbers and they're read as a pressure point attached to the final number. Not every system uses them.
What the number describes
A Life Path describes a recurring theme: the kind of situation you keep ending up in and the skill it keeps asking you to build. A Life Path 1 tends to keep landing in situations where nobody else will go first. A Life Path 6 tends to end up as the one who holds things together.
It doesn't predict events. It names a theme you can check against your history.
